Born in Queens, New York and raised on Long Island, Mr. Takacs attended Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus in Old Brookville, New York, where he graduated in 1989 with a BFA in Communications, specializing in broadcasting. 

That year, he started Riteway AV Corp. while teaching as an adjunct professor in the communications department and working as assistant technical director at the Little Theatre. He also served as assistant engineer for radio station WCHC 88.1 FM, he worked for Greater Media as assistant chief engineer for WGSM and WMJC and served as onsite engineer for a radio show broadcast from the White House lawn. He continued his broadcasting career as chief engineer for Liberty Media, working for WHFM, WBLI and WGBB Mr. Takacs left broadcasting to accept the position of Director of Engineering for the Mercury Paging Company, where he was put in charge of 45 transmitter sites all over the Tri-State area. 

He returned to broadcasting as chief engineer for WTHE and WVNJ, then in 1996 left to start Ultratek when he saw a need to provide technology consulting as the Internet began to emerge as a major force. In addition to his role as CEO for MJJT Consultants, Mr. Takacs is a consulting engineer for WTD World Discount Telecommunications and devotes time to mentoring early-stage technology companies.
